Theme Picked (again): Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1/21/09)
Advertised Description: The Restaurant at the End of the Universe – The basic idea behind this theme is an 'end of the universe' space theme which would appeal to most people – space art everywhere. Sometime during the party 'the end of the universe' would happen (some sort of light show). On top of that, we would add humorous theme elements taken from the book – such as a cow bred specifically to want to be eaten walking around asking people to eat it, Zaphod Beeblebrox walking around jabbering at people, etc. These elements would be structured in a manner that would be funny to everyone without being annoying.
Vote (again) for Party Themes! (1/20/09)
A petition calling for a theme re-vote gathered 41 signatures. Under the Constitution, this means that another vote will be held for party themes. The three theme choices are Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Pokemon, and The Recession.
Theme Picked: The Recession (1/14/09)
Advertised Description: We all know times are going poorly now, but we still need to enjoy life. This theme is meant to lightly poke fun at the current state of economic affairs. Imagine rundown streets, crowded soup kitchens, shuttered up stores and panicked Wall Street scenes. Let's get down like the Dow Jones Industrial Average!

Voting will take place at dinner on both Monday and Tuesday. You may also e-mail your ballot to Ryan Hamerly (hamerly@its). The theme choices are those listed below.
Theme Meeting (1/11/09)
Many theme ideas were discussed, and three finalists were chosen: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Pokemon, and The Recession. These three candidates will be put to a vote among the members of Avery to determine the winner.
